AIAA Rice holds various networking and informational events throughout the year. In November 2023, we hosted engineers from Boeing who held an informational session for members. Students also had the opportunity to chat with the Boeing representatives to learn more about Boeing and discuss potential career opportunities.

Wings Over Houston Airshow
AIAA Rice annually brings members to the Wings Over Houston Airshow at Ellington Airport. This is a great opportunity for students to view and learn about both vintage and modern aircraft, as well as network with industry professionals. This year, members were able to watch a demonstration of F-16 Thunderbirds performing formation flying and solo routines.
We also participate in national AIAA opportunities–– students enjoy meeting a wide range of professionals and seeking internships and entry-level positions at the annual AIAA SciTech conference.

Rice JFK 60th Anniversary Event
In the fall of 2022, AIAA presented at Rice’s 60th anniversary event of JFK’s ‘Moon Speech’. The chapter was well received at this event, and connections forged during this presentation eventually led to the first networking event, with Houston-based aviation startup Venus Aerospace.
